Thanksgiving Cocktails to pair up your Dinner


Bull City Irish Mule

Muddle fresh mint

2 oz. of Irish Whiskey

6 oz of Ginger beer

1 lime

Pour and stir over ice

Pair with lamb, Filet steak, and smoked Salmon


Crantini with us in Durham

2 ½ oz. of premium vodka

2 oz. of Cranberry Juice

Garnish with fresh or dried cranberries and a wedge of lime

Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake and pour into a martini glass

Great as a starter drink and pairs well with turkey and pork dishes


Classic North Carolina Egg Nog

6 eggs (separate the yolk and egg whites)

1/3 cup sugar

1 cup of premium Bourbon

1 cup of premium Cognac or Brandy

2 cups of whole milk

2 cups of cream


Beat six egg yolks with a wire whisk until very light and doubled in volume. Slowly add in the sugar, beating constantly until it is smooth about 3 minutes. Continue beating the egg yolk while carefully adding the liquors, one by one. Gently whisk in the milk and cream. Rinse and dry off the whisk, then beat the egg whites with the whisk until stiff. Gently pour the egg whites into the eggnog. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving. Sprinkle with fresh nutmeg. Makes about 6 large cups.


Pairs well with sweet potato casserole and dessert dishes like cheesecake, banana pudding, chocolate or vanilla muffins and gingerbread cookies.


Holiday Old Fashion

1 oz. Premium Black Canadian Whisky

.25oz. simple syrup

1-3 dashes of bitters

Strain into a rock glass over ice and garnish with an orange wedge

Pairs well with Duck, Pork chops, fig dishes and pecan pie


NC Paloma

2 oz. premium Blanco Tequila

1/4 – 2 oz. of freshly squeezed lime, to taste

Lime wedge

4 oz. grapefruit soda

Coarse salt for the rim, optional


Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake and pour into a glass and garnish with grapefruit peel or a lime wedge

Pairs well with any Mexican dishes or spicy flavored dishes.


Botanical Garden’s Bloody Mary

2 oz. of premium Vodka or Bourbon

4 oz. of tomato juice

2 dashes of Worcestershire sauce

2 dashes of Tabasco sauce, to taste

2 teaspoons of horseradish, optional

A dash of celery salt

A dash of black pepper

A dash of paprika

Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker, add ice, shake and pour into a glass. Then garnish with a celery stalk, cucumber spears, parsley and 3 garlic-stuffed green olives. To make it even more delicious add a grilled veggie kabob with green & red peppers, mini tomatoes, and mushrooms. Now that’s a meal in a drink.

Although this drink can be a meal in itself, it pairs well with Brown Sugar glazed lamb chops, rack of ribs, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and any spicy side dishes.
